The PMI Michigan Thumb Chapter is looking for a few hardy souls to test a simulcast of the September 14th Chapter Meeting (no meeting fee will be charged – see below). 

The Thumb Chapter covers a large area of North East Michigan so the Board has been looking for ways the membership could participate in chapter functions, without hours of driving.  Capgemini has generously provided a Micro Soft Live Meeting account and a Toll-Free Meet-Me- Line, at no cost to the chapter.  Now our remote chapter members can participate and earn PDUs at our monthly meetings alongside our local members. 

A test from the Bavarian Inn demonstrated that the Live Meeting session would support slide show presentations, with computer Voice over IP (VOIP) audio and video streaming. 

 Like everything else, there are some catches.

• Microsoft Windows operating system,
• Sorry MAC users, Live Meeting Client does not support MAC’s
• Windows Internet Explorer only
• Broadband - Dial-Up just won’t cut it even if you opt out of the video streaming
• Computer speakers and microphone so you can hear and speak
• The Live Meeting Client must be installed on your machine.  If you have it already you are in luck proceed to next paragraph. 
• The following link will test your machine for minimum requirements, download the Live Meeting software, and then join a test meeting.

Registering for the Webinar

There will be a separate registration from the Thumb Chapter website www.pmi-thumbchapter.org, after completing the registration process the link to join the meeting will be sent to you.

Paying for the Chapter Meeting…. NOT

Normally, there would be an $8.00 charge for attending the September Chapter Meeting, but for this month only, the fee will be waived for anyone attending in person or joining the webinar.   After September the meeting fee will return for all participants.  

A Free PDU

Yes you still get the PDU!    A free PDU will be given to everyone joining the meeting, in person or virtually.   Just fill out a short survey and the PDU is yours.

Joining the Meeting

When joining the Live Meeting you must enter your full name as an Attendee.  This is vital for identifying who’s actually joined.  If the moderator cannot identify an attendee they will be considered a lurker and booted from the meeting.
