Project Scope and Requirement Engineering (7 PDUs)

Gathering project and/or application requirements is a difficult concept for many to grasp and is often overlooked during project execution. After all, if you are not coding, then you are not working.

This seminar examines aspects of early project planning including scope definition, setting goals, creating measurable objectives, and gathering business and system requirements. Be prepared to share your insights and horror stories about projects you know of that have failed in any of these areas (and also, projects that have been successful in these areas.) Time will be permitted for practicing what is being taught.

This class will be held on Saturday, July 21 from 8am-4pm.

Baker College

1050 W Bristol Rd

Flint, MI

The Chapter provides coffee and donuts/bagels in the morning. Light refreshments will be provided in the afternoon.

Lunch will not be provided.

Networking Tactics to get the Job! 3.5 PDUs

More than 80% of real career jobs are never publicly advertised. Many are never posted and more still are created for people based on their talents or appeal to the organization.

So, how can you tap into this “hidden” job market? This in-seat seminar examines the opportunities that await people who know how to obtain them. Various aspects of networking are examined, including how to access jobs through people you know, how to secure positions through agencies, and the secrets of how to gain access to your ideal position within your ideal company.

SEMINAR OBJECTIVES:

•               TO explain exactly what networking is and isn't and how you can benefit (and get hurt) by it.

•               TO explain the steps involved with developing a successful network.

•               TO describe aspects of the "hidden" job market.

•               TO review potential problems people encounter when networking incorrectly.
